Children of employees of the Richmond County School System may:

• Attend the school that the parent works at; 
• Attend a school within the feeder pattern of the school that the parent works at; 
• May apply for a magnet school or specialized program (students must meet the admissions criteria for enrollment);
• Employees who are not stationed in a school are eligible to attend a school within the feeder pattern of the zoned school(s) for the address of employment
  • For example, employees at the Central Office are eligible to attend the following schools: Lamar-Milledge Elementary School, Hornsby Middle School, and Laney High School. 

Directions for requesting a zone exemption for children of employees of the Richmond County School System. 

If you are requesting your child to attend the school that you work at:

1) Employee should print and complete the "Zone Exemption Form for Employees Children"

2) The Principal of your school should sign the form and keep the signed document on file at the school. 

3) The Student Data Collection Specialist should code the student in Infinite Campus under the Specialized Programs tab. 

4) The Principal should forward a copy to the School Options Program Specialist. 

If you are requesting your child to attend a feeder school of the school that you work at:

1) Employee should print and complete the "Zone Exemption Form for Employees Children"

2) E-mail the completed application to haddebr@boe.richmond.k12.ga.us

3) A copy of the approval will be returned to the employee and sent to the requested school Principal

4) The Student Data Collection Specialist should code the student in Infinite Campus under the Specialized Programs tab.
